Ground Testing.
Pitts Electric performs MSHA compliance testing for mining facilities. In addition to motor and equipment ground tests we also perform ground rod and ground field tests using calibrated step potential testing procedures.Step potential tests are also performed for other electrical contractors to meet acceptance testing requirements.
Hi-Pot Testing
We have in-house capability to perform high potential testing up to 15,000 volts. This is mainly used as diagnostic tool to determine faults in underground 15kV cables and also for acceptance testing required on many state and federal projects.Infrared Thermographic Scanning
Pitts Electric uses state of the art IR cameras to perform preventative maintenance checks on; Switchgear and Panels Motor Control Centers Discrete Motor Controls Electric Motors Medium Voltage Terminations Aerial Power Lines and Hardware Pad-mount and Aerial Transformers Reports can be provided as hard copy, PDF, and Fluke format.
Pole Installations
Pitts Electric can set most commonly used wood, concrete, and metal poles. We maintain an inventory of CCA wood poles We also offer hole and lighting foundation services. Auger sizes in 8", 10", 12", 16", 18", 20", 24", 36",and 48" diameters. Total hole depths up to 15'. We offer hole only, hole and pole, or hole and poured foundation.
Outdoor Lighting
We install, maintain, and repair parking lot and roadway lighting, structure lighting, and high mast lighting. With bucket trucks that range from 35' working heights to 70' working heights we can work on most pole mounted fixtures. Latest HID testing technologies allow us to rapidly diagnose lighting problems whether lamp, ballast, or starter, saving the customer from purchasing un-needed lighting components. When the lighting structure must be climbed, our technicians have the training and safety equipment to perform the task safely.

Our High Voltage/Distribution Services Division installs, repairs, and upgrades High Voltage/Distribution Services systems. From poles and aerial distribution networks or underground utilities to transformers and switch gear.

Pitts Electric offers 24/7/365 service for industrial, commercial, institutional, and high voltage customers. Our service trucks are kept stocked with many common service items. We also stock breakers, control devices, starters, overloads, disconnects, fuses, conduit, junction boxes, lamps, ballasts, wire, and cable at our Macon, Georgia location. Our stock of common and not so common parts exceeds that of many electrical supply houses. We also keep our bucket and line trucks fully stocked and maintain the only independent contractor stock of poles, cross arms, power line equipment, insulators, fused cut outs, fuse links, squeeze-on’s, ACSR, URD cable, load break terminations, and dead break terminations in Middle Georgia.
